Why Buy a Clutch Kit?

A stock clutch is designed to work just good enough to get you through tame terrain. Throw on bigger tires, added weight or a change in elevation and you'll see a noticeable decrease in performance. Dalton Industries spent countless hours on the Dyno fine-tuning their clutch kit to provide a product that will address all of these conditions allowing optimal performance from your ride!

  • Dyno and field tested to ensure quality and customer satisfaction
  • Optimal performance with any tire models
  • Reduces belt slippage and clutch heat
  • Enhances throttle response
  • Prevents power loss when running larger tires
  • Improves low to mid-range engagement

Non EBS version for 28" + tire sizes. (* including some heavy 27" for mud applications).  Using a heavier secondary spring when not necessary can affect top speed.

Includes a new primary spring, a custom helix, and a new torsion secondary spring. Instructions include a "set up guide" including secondary spring adjustments for different tire sizes. This also includes settings for the stock secondary spring if you alternate to smaller 26" tires, etc.

The Standard Non-EBS version is well calibrated for stock 25" tires and no clutch re-calibration is necessary. The older adjustable torsion style secondary clutch allows for a bit of flexibility. For oversized tires in this application we have two different cost effective kits.

Additional Notes:

The Sportsman 570 is an impressive value model and is available in many different configurations. Not only power steering options and accessories, but also different versions of clutches. The standard Sportsman 570 has the earlier style non engine brake clutches. Some models are also available with EBS (engine braking). The EBS versions have a new, different secondary clutch, as well as a different primary. We offer different clutch tuning options based on model and application. Clutch kits improve bottom and mid acceleration, as well as improved backshifting of the belt when the vehicle comes under load. Clutch re-calibration helps recover much of the losses incurred from adding oversized tires, as well as improved belt life.

2014-15,2018-2020 ( 2016,17 have different secondary clutch) – not for 2021

This kit is designed to maximize efficiency for stock to 27" tire sizes. A fully adjustable kit for the primary clutch that includes two primary springs for engagement preference, as well as Quick Adjust Flyweights and hardware. Uses the stock secondary spring for most applications. Instructions include settings for the quick adjust flyweights for different tire sizes, as well as instructions for the use of an optional secondary spring and settings for the larger 28"+ tire sizes if you change at a later time.

Additional Notes:

For the engine braking versions, or EBS models, there are also different versions of calibration kits based on the tire size and application. Dalton kits for the EBS models include our patented "Quick Adjust" flyweight system. With these flyweights you can add or subtract mass from the flyweights without even removing the flyweights from the clutch. This means quick adjustments for fine tuning or quicker seasonal adjustments for tire sizes, etc. Kits come with a comprehensive "set up guide" for different applications.

This 570 version has different clutches than some other previous Polaris EBS "kits" previously offered for conversions. These clutch re-calibration packages are only for the factory EBS clutches (with TEAM secondary) that come on the 2014 570.

Sportsman 570 EBS 28" + tires. (* and some heavy 27" tires for mud applications) - 2014-15, 2018-2020 only (2016-17 have different secondary clutch) – NOT for 2021 model.  Using a heavier secondary spring when not necessary can affect top speed.

Designed to correct the shift pattern for larger tires. It is physics...larger tires, the resulting gearing, and added rotating weight hurt acceleration. People who have tested tire sizes know that even a slightly larger or heavier tire hurts performance and speed. Proper clutch calibration can help recover much of that loss and improve belt grip and bottom end performance. This kit includes a new primary spring and the Quick Adjust flyweights and hardware, along with a different secondary spring. The instructions and "set up guide" include settings for all tire sizes and terrain.

Non EBS version for 26-27" tires.

This kit includes a new primary spring and a custom ground (private label) billet helix for the application. A precision machined part with stainless steel spline hub and hard coating. There are instructions in this kit for the use of the optional secondary spring (DPSS- B/R/S) if you later change to 28" + tires.

The Standard Non-EBS version is well calibrated for stock 25" tires and no clutch re-calibration is necessary. The older adjustable torsion style secondary clutch allows for a bit of flexibility. For oversized tires in this application we have two different cost effective kits.

2021+ Sportsman 570 EBS/Trail - oversized tires. not for standard non engine brake models.

(this kit fits the 21 and newer EBS clutches on most models with power steering and EBS)

The 2021 Trail/EBS versions come with clutching that is ok for stock tires and huge gains will not be made with clutching the vehicle if you retain stock tires. This kit is a re-calibration kit for oversized tires and primarily focused on 27-28” tire sizes.

There is good improvement to be made with proper clutching (compared to stock clutching) for oversized tires.
The flyweights in this kit are adjustable and the set up guide shows you how to set up for different tires and terrain. Dalton “Quick Adjust” flyweights allow you to add or subtract grams without even removing the flyweights from the clutch.
There are even settings included in the instructions for set up of the kit for stock tires so that easy adjustment can be made if you go back and forth from stock tires to larger ones on different seasons, or even if you use stock tires in power robbing situations like sand dunes or higher elevations.

So far it seems great. I had it installed at a dealership so i can't speak to how it went together. But I sure as hell can feel the difference. Good purchase especially with the larger tires.

I bought the Dalton clutch kit for my 570 sportsman because it lost power when going with bigger tires (27"). This clutch kit worked amazing to bring my power back. Highly recommend, plus revco had extremely fast shipping. Very very happy :)
