Gear Down and Go Big
Your Polaris General can get work done when it needs to, but deep down you know you bought your General for some fierce mud flingin' action. With SuperATV’s 8” GDP Portal Gear Lift installed, you can take your side-by-side to another level. That huge increase in ground clearance paired with its torque-boosting 45% or 60% gear reduction gives you the ability to clear bigger rocks and power through thicker mud. With an 8” GDP Portal Kit, nothing’s gonna stop you.
GDP—the Most Trusted Name in Portals
So how many people let GDP transform their ride? More people than any other portal system. There are thousands riding on portals every weekend tearing up mud parks and bombing down trails. With total ride hours numbering in the hundreds of thousands, you know that GDP is the must mud-proven portal kit you can get.
Perfect for Mud
Did we mention 8” portals are great for muddin'? Getting lifted means you have room for big mud tires and your General can cruise over deep mud instead of plowing right through. The 45% or massive 60% gear reduction means you get tons of torque back to turn those tires so you’ll have no issue pushing through the thickest peanut butter mud.
A Gear Reduction That Protects Your Drivetrain
GDP puts the gear reduction right in the portal hub, which means it comes after your drivetrain. That makes this gear reduction reduce the stress on your axles, differential, prop shaft, and transmission. So ride harder than stock and cause less wear with GDP.
Unmatched Gear Material
Our top-of-the-line gears are made from precision-ground 9310 alloy steel so they mate perfectly each and every time. That gives you super quiet portals no matter how hard you ride. Not to mention they’re bulletproof. They’re built for battle and built for luxury.
Stronger Housings by Design
Our portal housings are built on the back of experience. We’ve done more field testing than anybody else and we know what makes our box stronger. So whether you go with cast aluminum or choose USA-made billet aluminum with a slick CNC-machined look, you’re getting portal boxes that can stand up to everything out on the trail.
- Our housings are reinforced in all the right places
- They’re built with better oil flow and gearing forces in mind
- There are no gimmicks and no vents because vents do more harm than good—we know because we tested them
The Strongest Portal Backing Plates You Can Get
There’s nothing stronger than our backing plates. What makes them so good? They’re built with an advanced steel alloy that’s stronger than chromoly steel. And at 5/16” thick, these hand-welded plates won’t fold over or break even after years of hard riding. In fact, they’re probably the strongest thing on your machine.
Advanced Gaskets and Seals - Whether you go with cast or billet, both housings use:
- Advanced gaskets with excellent oil resistance and a lower deterioration rate than Kevlar gaskets
- A sealed input gear and double-lipped output seal
- Rubber O-rings that completely seal the housings
- 100% sealing coverage throughout so you can forget about oil leaks
Bearings That Rock
Bearings that can take abuse are just as important as gears. That’s why our output bearings are double-angular contact bearings. They keep your output shaft running true when you’re loaded down with a heavy machine and when your smashing into rocks and stumps. From top to bottom, GDP is built for battle.
Universal Hubs and Slotted Rotors
Our precision-ground, stainless steel slotted rotors stay cool to give you the braking power you need when you need it. They come with 4/156, 4/137, 4/115, and 4/110 bolt patterns and lugs. These are the most popular bolt patterns so no matter what side-by-side wheels you get your hands on, they’ll work on these hubs. We invented the tapered output shaft that our hubs attach to, which provides a more secure lock that won’t wobble or wear over time.
Reinforce Your UTV with a Frame Stiffener (Sold Separately - https://revco.ca/super-atv-frame-stiffener-support/)
An 8” portal kit is a heavy-duty piece of hardware for heavy-duty machines, and as awesome as the General is, it’s not quite up to snuff. That’s why we highly recommend a frame stiffener. Trust us—we’ve hit enough bumps to know that bending a stock frame can happen. Don’t do it. Get a frame stiffener.
