Vehicle Information
Honda Interceptor 250 Motorcycle - Street (1988-1990)
The Honda Interceptor 250, also known as the Honda VTR250, is a sport motorcycle produced from 1988 to 1990. It was the smallest model in Honda's Interceptor lineup, featuring a 249 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 90-degree V-twin engine with four valves per cylinder. This engine delivered approximately 26 horsepower at 12,500 rpm and 12.8 ft/lb of torque at 9,500 rpm, offering a spirited ride for its class. Throughout its production from 1988 to 1990, the Interceptor 250 was offered as a single model without distinct trim levels. However, notable changes occurred. In 1989, the "Interceptor" designation was removed, and the bike was simply called VTR250. The final drive chain was updated from a #530 to a lighter #438, and the front sprocket mounting changed from two bolts to a single bolt. For 1990, the model received a 17-inch front wheel, replacing the earlier 16-inch, and the front braking system was upgraded from an inboard disc to a conventional external disc brake. Q: How do I ensure I select the correct parts for my Honda Interceptor 250 (VTR250)?
A: To guarantee a perfect fit, please use the year and edition selector at the top of this page. This will filter parts specifically compatible with your motorcycle's model year.
