Vehicle Information
Kawasaki KLT200 ATV (1981-1984)
The Kawasaki KLT200, Kawasaki's first three-wheeled ATV, was produced from 1981 to 1984. This robust vehicle was powered by a 198cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder SOHC engine, estimated to produce around 14-15 horsepower. It featured a 5-speed manual transmission. During its production run, the KLT200 saw several evolutions. The initial A-series models (1981-1983) were followed by the B and C series (1983-1984), which introduced significant upgrades. These "upgraded" versions included an electric fuel pump, a new carburetor, and a complete restyling. Notable differences also existed in the camshaft bearing (ball bearing on B1, C1, C2 models, versus direct support on the cylinder head for A models) and differential units. A models used a mode selector directly attached to the differential case, while C models featured a two-piece axle and a different type of lockable differential. Fuel tank capacity also varied, from 11 liters on the KLT200-A1 to 12 liters on most other models. A special version, the KLT200 Duckster (1983-1984), was also available, designed for hunting and fishing activities. FAQ:
