Vehicle Information
Can-Am Defender HD7 Side-by-Side (2022-2026)
The Can-Am Defender HD7, spanning model years 2022 to 2026, is a robust utility side-by-side known for its practical power and efficiency. It is consistently powered by a 650cc Rotax ACE single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, delivering 52 horsepower. This engine is offered across various Defender and Defender MAX trims, including Base, DPS, XT, and MAX configurations, catering to diverse needs from entry-level utility to multi-passenger transport with enhanced features. Throughout its production run from 2022 to 2026, the HD7 platform maintained a consistent core design. A minor update occurred in 2024, where the engine's torque saw a slight increase from 41 lb-ft to 42 lb-ft. While some higher-tier Defender models received suspension improvements in 2023, these were trim-specific enhancements and not a general generation change for the HD7 engine or platform. The HD7 continues to be a reliable starting point in the Defender lineup, even with the introduction of new engines and redesigned platforms for other models in 2026. FAQ
