Vehicle Information
Kawasaki ZR-7 Motorcycle - Street (2000)
The 2000 Kawasaki ZR-7 was a standard motorcycle known for its reliable, air-cooled engine. It was powered by a 738 to 739 cc inline 4-cylinder engine, producing approximately 75 to 76 horsepower at 9500 rpm. This DOHC, air-and-oil-cooled engine was fed by four Keihin CVK 32mm carburetors. Although based on an older design, it incorporated a K-tric system to optimize ignition and enhance low and mid-range acceleration. For the 2000 model year, the ZR-7 was available in several variations. The standard "naked" model was joined by the ZR-7S, which featured a fairing, a different headlight, a revised instrument cluster, and stiffer fork springs. The year 2000 did not mark a major generation change for the ZR-7 line itself, but rather the introduction of these trim options. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Basic Service Interval | 5 000 km | Includes checking spark plugs, synchronizing carburetors, and various safety-related checks. |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | 12 000 km or annually | The oil filter is typically replaced at the same time as the oil change. |
| Drive Chain | The Kawasaki ZR-7 uses a chain drive, not a belt drive. Maintenance involves checking its slack, lubricating it, and inspecting for wear. This maintenance should be performed more frequently in harsh conditions (dust, rain, high speeds). | |
| Spark Plugs | Checked during the basic 5,000 km service | Inspect, clean, and reset the gap. Replace if electrodes are corroded, damaged, or if the insulator is cracked. |
| Air Filter | Clean every 100 hours, replace annually or every 200 hours | These intervals are general recommendations. Disposable filters are replaced when dirty, reusable filters are cleaned according to manufacturer's instructions. |
| Coolant | The Kawasaki ZR-7 engine is air/oil-cooled, so it does not use liquid coolant. |
