Vehicle Information
Honda FourTrax 300 ATV (1988-2000)
The Honda FourTrax 300, produced from 1988 to 2000, was a highly popular and versatile ATV, available in two-wheel-drive (TRX300) and four-wheel-drive (TRX300FW) configurations. Powered by a consistent 282cc (often rounded to 300cc) air-cooled, SOHC, single-cylinder, four-stroke engine, this model underwent several significant updates throughout its production. The first generation (1988-1992) featured a monotube frame, with 2WD models using McPherson strut front suspension and 4WD models having double-wishbone. Horsepower was 18.5 HP in 1988, then 16.5 HP from 1989. The second generation (1993-1997) introduced a double-tube frame and upgraded 2WD models to double A-arm front suspension, improving handling. Rear hubs and axles were also updated for better durability. From 1998 to 2000, minor electrical changes were implemented, including a different wiring harness and CDI unit. The Sportrax 300 EX, a distinct sport model, is not part of this utility FourTrax 300 line. Q: How do I ensure I get the right parts for my FourTrax 300?
A: The Honda FourTrax 300 saw several updates between 1988 and 2000. To guarantee a perfect fit, please use the year and edition selector on this page.
