Vehicle Information
Arctic Cat Trail Cat 340 Snowmobile (1979-1980)
The Arctic Cat Trail Cat 340 snowmobile was a popular model offered during the 1979 and 1980 model years. It featured a reliable fan-cooled, oil-injected engine, making it a significant machine as one of Arctic Cat's first oil-injected sleds since 1974. The 1979 model was introduced with a 340cc engine and a rear suspension providing 7 inches of travel, a first for a trail sled. For the 1980 model year, the Trail Cat saw notable enhancements. While the 340cc engine remained available, a more powerful 440cc fan-cooled engine option was introduced, expanding choices for riders. Beyond the engine, the 1980 models benefited from improved assembly for enhanced durability, new handlebars, and refreshed multi-hued trim, offering a more refined appearance and feel.
