Vehicle Information
Yamaha SRX700 Snowmobile (1998-2002)
The Yamaha SRX700, a high-performance snowmobile, was produced from 1998 to 2002. It consistently featured a liquid-cooled, triple-piped, 696cc, 2-stroke, 3-cylinder engine. While the base SRX700 was offered annually, specific trims like the 1998 SRX 700 Mountain (with a longer track) and "S" models (equipped with Ohlins front suspensions) provided variations. Throughout its production, the SRX700 saw several key updates. Engine horsepower increased from approximately 138 HP (1998-1999) to 142 HP (2000-2002) due to larger exhaust ports and a hotter self-adjusting ignition. Other notable changes included strengthened cranks (1999), a stator upgrade from 175W to 300W (2000), and the introduction of the Detonation Control System (DCS) in 2002 to prevent engine seizure. These modifications reflect distinct evolutionary steps in the model's development. FAQ:
