Vehicle Information
BMW R1100GS Motorcycle - Street (1994-2004)
The BMW R1100GS and its successor, the R1150GS, represent a prominent era of adventure touring motorcycles produced from 1994 to 2004. These models are powered by BMW's distinctive air and oil-cooled flat-twin "boxer" engines. The R1100GS (1994-1999) featured a 1,085 cc engine, delivering around 79-80 horsepower. It was the first GS to use the "oilhead" engine with four-valve cylinder heads and fuel injection. A significant generational change occurred in 1999 with the introduction of the R1150GS (1999-2004). This model boasted an enlarged 1,130 cc engine, producing 85 horsepower, and a new six-speed gearbox, replacing the R1100GS's five-speed unit. Other enhancements included a hydraulic clutch and a distinctive asymmetrical headlight design. From 2002, the R1150GS Adventure trim became available, offering a larger 30-liter fuel tank and adjustable seat height for enhanced off-road and long-distance capabilities. Minor updates were implemented across both models throughout their production. Q: How do I ensure I select the correct part for my BMW R1100GS?
A: Please use the year and edition selector on this page to find parts specifically compatible with your motorcycle's exact model and year.
