Vehicle Information
Suzuki T500 Titan Motorcycle - Street (1968-1977)
The Suzuki T500 Titan, produced from 1968 to 1977, was a renowned air-cooled, two-stroke parallel twin motorcycle. Known for its robust 492 cc engine, it delivered 47 horsepower at 7,000 rpm initially, evolving through various model names like T500/Five, Cobra, Charger, and most famously, Titan. Throughout its production, the T500 underwent several key updates. In 1968, the swingarm was lengthened for improved stability. The 1969 T500 II Titan saw a restyling, carburetor size reduction from 34mm to 32mm for better fuel economy, and engine revisions including 11 fins and new pistons. By 1973, models like the T500K and T500L received a larger gearbox oil reservoir (1400cc from 1200cc) and a strengthened bottom end. A significant facelift occurred in 1976 with the GT500, introducing a larger fuel tank, electronic ignition, a front disc brake, and revised engine porting that shifted peak power to 44 horsepower at 6,000 rpm. The GT500 continued in this form until its final production year in 1977. FAQ:
