Vehicle Information
Yamaha WaveRunner GP 800 Personal Watercraft (1998-2005)
The Yamaha WaveRunner GP 800 series, produced from 1998 to 2005, was a popular performance personal watercraft. All models in this range were powered by a robust 784cc, 120-horsepower 2-stroke, 2-cylinder engine. Initially, from 1998 to 2000, the GP 800 featured a first-generation GP hull made of Sheet Molded Compound (SMC) with a semi-V design, weighing approximately 226 kg. A significant mid-cycle generation change occurred in 2001 with the introduction of the GP 800R. While retaining the same powerful engine, the GP 800R adopted a larger, second-generation "GPR" hull, shared with the GP 1200R, increasing its dry weight to around 268 kg and adding a manual trim system. This GP 800R model continued production until 2005. FAQ:
