The Yamaha Maxim 550, part of the XJ550 series, was produced from 1981 to 1983, offering a blend of modern engineering and everyday usability. This air-cooled, four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder DOHC engine with 2 valves per cylinder consistently featured a 528cc displacement across all model years.
