Polaris Genesis Personal Watercraft (1999-2004)
The Polaris Genesis personal watercraft, produced from 1999 to 2004, primarily featured a single model line, the Genesis 1200. It was powered by a 2-stroke, 3-cylinder, 1165cc engine, consistently producing 135 horsepower. The main distinction between versions lay in their fuel delivery system. Two primary engine configurations were offered: the carbureted version (with three CDK carburetors), available from 1999 through at least 2001, and the FFI/DI (Ficht Fuel Injection / Direct Injection) variant, introduced in 1999 and available until 2004. The FFI/DI system was cleaner (76 percent less polluting) and more fuel-efficient (approximately 35 percent less fuel consumption). Ignition system updates were implemented, particularly for 2000 and later models, alongside changes to the exhaust system and injectors/EMM on newer models.
