The BMW R45, produced from 1978 to 1985, was an entry-level standard motorcycle. It featured an air-cooled, four-stroke, horizontally opposed boxer twin engine with a 473 cc displacement. Its primary variations were in engine power output rather than distinct trim levels. While no major redesigns occurred, the R45 received evolutionary updates.
