Sea-Doo GTR 215 Personal Watercraft (2012-2016)
The Sea-Doo GTR 215, produced from 2012 to 2016, is an affordable performance watercraft built on the GTI-series hull platform. It consistently featured a supercharged and intercooled Rotax 1503 SCIC 4-TEC engine, delivering 215 horsepower from its 1,494 cc (1.5 L) displacement. Standard features included the Intelligent Brake & Reverse (iBR) system, Intelligent Throttle Control (iTC) with Touring, Sport, and ECO modes, Variable Trim System (VTS), a Digitally Encoded Security System (D.E.S.S.) key, and a Closed-Loop Cooling System (CLCS). Throughout its production from 2012 to 2016, the GTR 215 maintained its core engine specifications. While the model itself served as the primary designation without distinct trim levels, the GTI hull received minor enhancements in 2012, such as an enhanced stern and a slightly lengthened bow for increased buoyancy and a larger rear platform. A new black and yellow color scheme was introduced in 2016. The GTR 215 was discontinued after 2016, replaced by the GTR 230 in 2017 with a more powerful engine, marking a change outside this specific production range. FAQ:
