Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo Formula Z 670 Snowmobile (1998-1999)
The Ski-Doo Formula Z 670, available for the 1998 and 1999 model years, was a performance snowmobile known for its robust engine. Powered by a 669cc liquid-cooled twin-cylinder Rotax engine, it delivered impressive power for its time. In 1998, the model featured an A.R.M. (Advanced Rider Management) rear suspension with 11 inches (28 cm) of travel, enhancing control and comfort. For 1999, the Formula Z 670 received a significant upgrade with the introduction of the 670 H.O. (High Output) engine. This improved engine boosted horsepower from 115-119 hp to approximately 125-130 hp and incorporated the DPM (Digital Performance Management) system for optimal jetting, along with the DESS (Digital Encoded Security System) security system. There were no distinct sub-trims for this model, with the H.O. designation referring to an engine upgrade rather than a separate trim level. Frequently Asked Questions:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil (2-stroke injection oil) | Before every ride | Check oil reservoir level. Running out of injection oil can severely damage the engine. Use high-quality 2-stroke injection oil (TC-W3 or manufacturer-specific). |
| Engine oil filter | Not applicable | 2-stroke engines like this typically do not have a traditional engine oil filter, as oil is injected directly into the fuel system. |
| Drive belt | Before every ride / Every 1 to 3 years | Inspect the belt for wear, cracks, or flat spots. Replace if any signs of wear are present. General replacement is suggested every 1 to 3 years depending on usage. |
| Spark plugs | Annually or every 50 to 100 hours | For 2-stroke engines, it is recommended to replace spark plugs annually to ensure optimal performance and avoid starting issues. |
| Air filter | Inspect every 8,000 to 9,600 km | Clean or replace depending on riding conditions and filter type. More frequent service is needed in dusty environments. |
| Coolant | Every 2 years | Check coolant level before every ride (when the engine is cold). Replacement every 2 years is generally recommended for liquid-cooled snowmobiles. |
