Initially, from 2014 to 2017, models were equipped with a 794cc Suzuki engine, delivering around 160 horsepower. These early models featured the ProClimb chassis and Arctic Race Suspension (ARS), undergoing a weight reduction in 2014. A significant evolution occurred in 2018 with the introduction of Arctic Cat's in-house 794cc C-TEC2 engine, featuring Dual-Stage Injection (DSI), maintaining a 160-165 hp class output with improved efficiency. This year also saw the debut of the narrower Ascender platform and the TEAM Rapid Response II drive clutch. Further innovation arrived in 2019 with the revolutionary ALPHA-ONE single-beam rear suspension, which became standard across all M8000 mountain models by 2020.
