Vehicle Information
Polaris SwitchBack 600 Snowmobile (2004-2021)
The Polaris SwitchBack 600 snowmobile, produced from 2004 to 2021, is renowned for its versatility and performance both on and off-trail. It was consistently equipped with a 599cc liquid-cooled, 2-stroke engine. The 600 HO engine, for instance, produced 120 hp in 2006, and later models benefited from the Cleanfire® Injection system for improved throttle response and efficiency. Over the years, the SwitchBack 600 underwent significant evolutions. Around 2006-2007, it adopted the IQ chassis, enhancing handling and front suspension, with track changes (e.g., from 144 to 136 inches on some models). A major generational break occurred around 2016 with the introduction of the AXYS® chassis, which repositioned the rider for better control and flatter cornering, while integrating redesigned PRO-XC™ rear and AXYS® front suspensions, and a notable weight reduction.
