The Polaris RMK 850 series (2020-2026) represents a high-performance mountain snowmobile, driven by the potent 850 Patriot engine. This 840cc, 2-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 2-stroke engine is renowned for its robust power delivery. The naturally aspirated version produces approximately 165 to 168 horsepower, while the turbocharged Patriot Boost option delivers between 181.5 and 185 horsepower at sea level, with up to a 50% power increase at high altitudes. This series saw significant mid-cycle developments. In 2022, the Matryx chassis was introduced for mountain models, featuring improved ergonomics and narrower bodywork. This year also marked the availability of the 850 Patriot Boost engine option, specifically for the new Matryx Slash models, which feature a shorter tunnel design.
