It was equipped with a 119cc fan-cooled Suzuki engine, providing manageable power focused on safety and control. For the 2000 model year, the primary trim offered was the standard Arctic Cat Z 120. In 2001, Arctic Cat introduced the Z 120 Sno Pro trim in addition to the standard model. The engine and platform remained consistent between 2000 and 2001, with no major generation changes.
