Vehicle Information
Yamaha RS Vector 1050 Snowmobile (2010-2018)
The Yamaha RS Vector 1050 snowmobile, produced from 2010 to 2018, is known for its reliability and balanced performance in the touring and trail snowmobile category. It was primarily equipped with a 1049cc, liquid-cooled, four-stroke, in-line three-cylinder engine, delivering consistent power for an enjoyable long-distance riding experience. During its production run, the RS Vector 1050 underwent two significant evolutions. In 2010, it received a major engine update, transitioning from a carbureted 963cc to a fuel-injected 1049cc Genesis 120FI, enhancing power and fuel economy. Then, in 2016, the model benefited from a complete overhaul of the 1049cc engine, incorporating the YCC-T system and D-Mode for customizable riding modes. That year also saw the introduction of the lighter and more performant SingleShot rear suspension. Q : How can I ensure this part is compatible with my Yamaha RS Vector 1050?
R : To guarantee compatibility, please use the year and model selector at the top of this page.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter | Initially at 800 km, then every 20,000 km | Many owners and mechanics suggest changing the oil filter with every oil change or at least annually. |
| Drive Belt (V-Belt) | Check every 50 hours. Replace every 3,200 to 4,000 km or 3,000 to 5,000 km | Replacement interval depends on riding style and conditions. Aftermarket belt manufacturers may recommend replacement every 1 to 3 years. |
| Spark Plugs | As per inspection | While no official interval is specified for the RS Vector, spark plugs in 4-stroke snowmobiles have a long lifespan. General recommendations for 4-strokes suggest replacements between 16,000 and 32,000 km. Iridium or platinum plugs last even longer. |
| Air Filter | As per inspection | While no official interval is specified for the RS Vector, general recommendations for motorcycle air filters suggest cleaning or replacement every 2,500 to 6,000 km. Inspect regularly, especially for snow accumulation. More frequent attention is necessary in dusty conditions. |
| Coolant | Annually. Some discussions suggest every 2-3 years or 8,000 km | Check level regularly. Interval may depend on the type of coolant used. |
