Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo Summit 500 Snowmobile (1996-2003)
The Ski-Doo Summit 500, produced from 1996 to 2003, is a mountain snowmobile renowned for its agility and performance. During this period, it was primarily equipped with two types of Rotax twin engines: a 499cc liquid-cooled and a 496cc fan-cooled, often designated as 500F. The Summit 500 series underwent significant evolution. The S-2000 chassis was used in 1996, transitioning to the ZX chassis from 1999 to 2002. Regarding engines, the 499cc liquid-cooled was common until 2000. The 496cc fan-cooled (500F) appeared around 2001-2002. For the 2003 model year, the 500cc liquid-cooled model was replaced by a 550cc fan-cooled engine, marking a distinct model change within the Summit lineup and the introduction of the REV chassis for newer models.
