Vehicle Information
Polaris Cutlass 440 Snowmobile (1981-1982)
The Polaris Cutlass 440, a snowmobile model produced between 1981 and 1982, was known for its performance and innovative features. It was equipped with a 432cc Fuji EC44-2PM-3100 Star Engine, an oil-injected twin-cylinder engine with a single carburetor and CD ignition, delivering around 50 horsepower. This engine was a new feature for Polaris, marking the introduction of oil injection on some models. In 1981, the Cutlass line included a base 340cc model and the 440cc Cutlass SS. The 440cc SS model introduced a new design with a long-travel aluminum slide rail rear suspension and a direct-drive power transmission system. For 1982, the 340cc base model was discontinued, leaving the Cutlass SS 440 as the primary offering, which carried over the same engine and innovative features from 1981. There were no major generation or engine changes for the 440cc Cutlass SS between these two years. FAQ:
