Polaris Indy XC 800 Snowmobile (2001-2003)
The Polaris Indy XC 800, produced from 2001 to 2003, was a high-performance snowmobile built on the innovative EDGE chassis. This model consistently featured a powerful 794cc liquid-cooled twin engine, generally rated at 130 to 135 horsepower. The introduction of the EDGE chassis in 2001 marked a significant advancement for Polaris, offering improved handling, reduced weight, and enhanced ergonomics compared to previous generations. The 2001 engine also saw minor revisions in head design and ignition components, leading to increased horsepower and reliability. The primary trim throughout these years was the XC SP. For the 2003 model year, an additional trim, the XC SP Edge X, was introduced, emphasizing aggressive trail performance with sport-tuned suspension. While the core engine and chassis remained consistent, these updates provided notable enhancements within the 2001-2003 production run. FAQ:
