Polaris Sprint 340 Snowmobile (1986-1990)
The Polaris Sprint 340, produced from 1986 to 1990, was a popular entry-level snowmobile known for its lightweight, nimble, and user-friendly design. Throughout its production, it was consistently powered by a reliable 339cc fan-cooled twin-cylinder engine, often identified as the Fuji EC34-2PM-01. This engine delivered dependable and spirited performance for its class. While specific horsepower varied slightly by year, the 1988 model was noted at 56 horsepower. During its 1986-1990 run, the Polaris Sprint 340 did not undergo any significant mid-cycle generation changes or fundamental engine overhauls. The core platform and engine remained consistent. The primary trims offered were the base Sprint 340 and the widely available Sprint 340 ES, which featured the added convenience of an electric start across most model years.
