Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo Formula III 700 Snowmobile (1998-2000)
The Ski-Doo Formula III 700, produced from 1998 to 2000, was a highly regarded snowmobile known for its powerful 699cc Rotax triple-cylinder liquid-cooled engine and performance-oriented CK3 chassis. This model consistently delivered strong performance, positioning it as a top choice for enthusiasts during its production run. Throughout its 1998-2000 run, the core 699cc engine and CK3 chassis remained consistent. However, minor refinements and trim variations were introduced. In 1999, the engine saw a change to "isoflex grease" for the outer bearing, a lubrication design update. For the 2000 model year, Ski-Doo expanded the lineup to include distinct trims such as the Formula III 700 R and Formula 700 Deluxe, alongside the standard Formula III 700. The 2000 models also featured the SC-10 rear suspension, though it's not explicitly confirmed if it received the updated SC-10 II version found on some other performance models. Q: How do I ensure I'm selecting the correct parts for my Ski-Doo Formula III 700?
A: To guarantee compatibility, please use our year and edition selector at the top of the page. This will filter parts specifically for your model year and trim.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter (oil injection system) | Check per manual | 2-stroke engines do not have a traditional engine oil filter. The owner's manual will specify service for any filter in the oil injection system. |
| Drive Belt | Inspect every 50 h or as needed | Typically replaced between 2 400 km and 4 800 km. Clean the clutch periodically to remove dust and debris. |
| Spark Plugs | Replace as needed | Replace if engine misfires, idles rough, or loses power. It is advisable to carry spare spark plugs. |
| Air Filter | Inspect and clean periodically | Snowmobile air intake systems require periodic inspection and cleaning. |
| Coolant | Check after each ride; change every 2 years | Level should be checked after each use. The cooling system may also require leak testing. |
