Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo MXZ 670 Snowmobile (1996-1999)
The Ski-Doo MXZ 670, produced from 1996 to 1999, was a high-performance snowmobile known for its powerful 669cc liquid-cooled Rotax twin engine. This model consistently featured the same engine displacement throughout its production run. The MXZ 670 saw significant evolution during these years. In 1996, the model was introduced with the lighter S chassis, offering improved suspension travel. For the 1999 model year, a major upgrade occurred with the introduction of the all-new ZX chassis, which enhanced handling. Concurrently, the engine was upgraded to the 670 HO (High Output) version, delivering a notable increase in power compared to previous years. The 1999 HO model also incorporated advanced features like the Digital Performance Management (DPM) system for optimized jetting and the Digital Encoded Security System (DESS). The 1999 MXZ 670 HO was a standout model before the 670cc engine was replaced in subsequent years. FAQ:

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter | Not applicable (2-stroke engine) | This 2-stroke engine does not use a traditional oil filter. Regularly check the 2-stroke injection oil reservoir level before each ride and refill as needed to prevent engine damage. |
| Drive Belt | Every 50 hours | Inspect for wear, cracks, and proper tension. Typical lifespan is 2 400 to 4 800 km, but varies with riding conditions. |
| Spark Plug | Annually | Replace once per season for moderate use. More frequent replacement may be needed for hard riding or racing. |
| Air Filter | Every 11 000 km or as needed | Clean with compressed air or replace. Inspect more frequently in dusty conditions, potentially after every ride. |
| Coolant | Every 2 years | Change with a 50% distilled water and 50% antifreeze solution. Some sources suggest every 5 years for similar models, but 2 years is a common recommendation. |
