Vehicle Information
Ski-Doo Formula 583 Snowmobile (1994-1999)
The Ski-Doo Formula 583, produced from 1994 to 1999, was powered by a robust Rotax 583 liquid-cooled twin engine, known for its consistent and strong performance. With a displacement of 581cc or 583cc and horsepower generally ranging from 105 to 108 hp, this series offered a range of models suited for various uses, including the Formula Z for trail riding, the Summit for mountain terrain, the performance-oriented MX Z, and the Grand Touring for touring. Throughout its production, the Formula 583 saw significant evolutions in chassis and suspension, though the 583 engine itself remained largely unchanged. Initially based on the F chassis, models like the Formula Z benefited from upgrades such as the addition of a hydraulic disc brake in 1995. The year 1996 marked the introduction of the SC-10 rear suspension and the S-2000 chassis on the MX Z 583, a platform later adopted by the Formula Z in 1997, offering improved handling and comfort.
