Vehicle Information
Yamaha Venture 480 Snowmobile (1991-1998)
The Yamaha Venture 480, a popular snowmobile produced from 1991 to 1998, was designed for comfortable touring and utility. It consistently featured a reliable 485cc fan-cooled, two-stroke, in-line 2-cylinder engine, delivering approximately 53 horsepower. This model was known for its durability and ease of use, making it a favorite for various winter activities. Throughout its production, the Venture 480 maintained its core 485cc engine, ensuring consistent performance. However, Yamaha introduced several trim variations to cater to different rider needs. The initial Venture XL offered comfort features like electric start and heated hand warmers. The Venture GT, available in 1992-1993, was a solo touring option, while the Venture TR, introduced in 1996, provided a more rugged "Trail" experience with a longer track and tow hitch. While other models in the broader Venture series saw the introduction of liquid-cooled engines in later years, the Venture 480 specifically retained its original 485cc fan-cooled powerplant until the end of its run in 1998.
