The Arctic Cat ZR 8000, a high-performance snowmobile, was produced from 2014 to 2024. Throughout this period, it consistently featured a 794cc, liquid-cooled, 2-stroke, twin-cylinder engine, renowned for its "165-class horsepower". Built on the ProCross platform and utilizing the SLIDE-ACTION Rear Suspension, the ZR 8000 is engineered for aggressive trail riding. Over its production run, the ZR 8000 saw significant mid-cycle evolutions. A major change was the introduction of the 8000-Series C-TEC2 engine with Dual-Stage Injection, which replaced the earlier Suzuki 800 engine. This new C-TEC2 engine offered substantial improvements, including increased low-end and mid-range torque, and reduced oil consumption. Concurrently, the ADAPT CVT System was integrated, featuring lightweight clutches for enhanced performance, better throttle response, and improved belt life. Other notable upgrades included the ARS II Front Suspension for optimized handling, the availability of ATAC On-the-Fly Suspension for electronic adjustments, and the GENII bodywork redesign.
