Vehicle Information
Polaris StarTrak 250 Snowmobile (1987-1990)
The Polaris StarTrak 250, a popular snowmobile from 1987 to 1990, was known for its reliable single-cylinder, fan-cooled, two-stroke 244cc engine. This model was part of Polaris's "Star" line, offering a consistent and straightforward riding experience. It featured a Mikuni VM30SS carburetor, electronic ignition, and an oil-injected system. Throughout its production, the StarTrak 250 maintained its core 244cc engine. However, minor updates were introduced. Early models (1987-1988) came with a 100 Watt alternator, which was upgraded to a 150 Watt alternator by 1990, indicating an enhancement to the electrical system. The 1990 model year also saw minor revisions to components such as the brake, chaincase, chassis, seat, and hood, though these were considered minor updates rather than a full generation change. The StarTrak 250 was offered as a single distinct model without multiple sub-trims. FAQ:
