Vehicle Information
Yamaha Phazer II 480 Snowmobile (1990-1996)
The Yamaha Phazer II 480, produced from 1990 to 1996, is a popular fan-cooled snowmobile known for its reliability and performance. Initially introduced with a 408cc engine in 1990, it quickly upgraded to a more powerful 485cc twin-cylinder engine from 1991 onwards. This 485cc engine was capable of producing approximately 71 horsepower at 7250 rpm and 52.6 lb-ft of torque at 7000 rpm, offering a robust experience for riders. Throughout its production, the Phazer II 480 saw significant updates. The 1990 model introduced features like a 121-inch track and a 36.2-inch ski stance. A major change occurred in 1991 with the engine displacement increase to 485cc and the introduction of "ST" (long track) models, featuring 136-inch tracks. Further enhancements were made in 1996, including a wider 38.6-inch ski stance, a new VX secondary clutch, and an updated 200-watt electrical system. Various trims were offered, such as the standard Phazer II, the long-track Phazer II ST, the Phazer II LE (Limited Edition) often with electric start, and the Phazer II ML (Mountain Lite) in 1996. These changes reflect a continuous evolution rather than a complete generational overhaul. Q: How can I be sure these parts fit my Yamaha Phazer II 480?
