The Polaris Indy XC 500 and its performance-oriented variant, the Indy XC SP 500, were highly popular snowmobiles offered between 1999 and 2003. These models consistently featured a robust 500cc liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine. During this period, Polaris introduced significant advancements in both chassis design and engine technology. The 1999 models utilized the XC-10 front and XTRA-10 rear suspensions. By 2000, the advanced Gen II chassis was introduced, followed by the durable EDGE chassis from 2001 onwards, enhancing handling and rider comfort.
