The Yamaha Wolverine RMAX4 1000, spanning model years 2021 to 2026, is a robust and high-performance side-by-side vehicle. It is powered by a 999cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, eight-valve parallel-twin engine, delivering an estimated 100 to 115 horsepower. This core engine remains consistent throughout the entire period, ensuring reliable performance. While the main engine has not changed, significant developments were introduced for the "Compact" models of the Wolverine RMAX4 1000 starting in 2023. For the 2025 model year, these "Compact" versions received notable enhancements: revised suspension for improved comfort and handling, an optimized braking system for increased power and feel, a new On-Command® Four-Wheel Drive system including Turf Mode, and a more powerful Electric Power Steering (EPS).
