Triumph Daytona 1200 Motorcycle - Street (1993-1999)
The Triumph Daytona 1200 is an iconic sports motorcycle produced from 1993 to 1999. Powered by a liquid-cooled, 1180 cc DOHC inline four-cylinder engine, it was renowned for its performance. This engine, derived from the Triumph Trophy 1200 unit, was specifically tuned for the Daytona with sportier cams and revised cylinder head dimensions to optimize its power output. Throughout its production run, the core engine characteristics remained consistent. The most notable change was the introduction of the Daytona 1200 SE (Special Edition) in 1998 or 1999. This limited edition of 250 motorcycles featured an exclusive color combination (black with gold graphics and wheels) and 6-piston front brake calipers, an upgrade from the 4-piston calipers found on earlier models. Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 10 000 km or annually | Some sources suggest more frequent changes (4 800 to 8 000 km) under aggressive riding conditions or for older motorcycles. |
| Drive Belt | Not applicable | This model uses a chain final drive, not a belt. The chain requires regular inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment. |
| Spark Plugs | Every 8 000 to 11 000 km | Check and replace as needed during regular service intervals. |
| Air Filter | Annually or every 19 000 km (if replaceable) | The original air filter may be non-serviceable or require specialized procedures. If accessible and replaceable, follow the recommended interval. |
| Coolant | Every 3 years | Renew regardless of mileage. |
