Vehicle Information
Yamaha FJ1200 Motorcycle - Street (1986-1993)
The Yamaha FJ1200, produced from 1986 to 1993, was a renowned sport-touring motorcycle celebrated for its powerful performance and comfortable ride. Evolving from the FJ1100, it featured a robust air/oil-cooled, 1188 cc, DOHC, four-cylinder engine, consistently delivering around 130 hp and 108 Nm of torque. Power was managed by a 5-speed transmission and transferred via a shaft drive. Throughout its production, the FJ1200 saw significant updates, effectively creating three distinct generations. The initial 1986-1987 (1TX) models featured a 16-inch front wheel and anti-dive system. The 1988-1989 (3CV) redesign brought a 17-inch front wheel, upgraded 4-piston front calipers, and a fuel pump, while removing the anti-dive. The final 1990-1993 (3XW) iteration introduced a rubber-mounted engine for reduced vibrations, a larger frame, and from 1991, an optional Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) on the FJ1200A variant, which became standard in 1993. Q: How do I ensure parts fit my specific FJ1200?
