Yamaha FZR600R Motorcycle - Street (1989-1999)
The Yamaha FZR600R, produced from 1989 to 1999, was a highly popular sport motorcycle. Known for its consistent performance, it featured a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, transverse four-cylinder DOHC 599cc engine with 16 valves, typically delivering 91 horsepower. This model was a staple in the sportbike category for over a decade. Throughout its production, the FZR600R saw several notable updates. Early models (1989-1992) featured a steel Deltabox frame and evolved from twin to single headlights. A significant shift occurred in 1993 with larger carburetors and a return to twin headlights. By 1994, the FZR600R introduced a new steel frame and "Foxeye" headlamps in some markets, leading to the YZF600R (Thundercat) in 1995, which featured a completely new frame, engine, and suspension. The original FZR600 continued alongside the YZF600R until 1999 in certain regions. A special Vance & Hines Edition was offered in 1992. FAQ:
