Vehicle Information
Yamaha Seca II 600 Motorcycle - Street (1992-1998)
The Yamaha Seca II 600, also known as the XJ600S Diversion in many markets, was produced from 1992 to 1998 for North American and Australian riders. Designed as an affordable, mid-size motorcycle, it offered a blend of practicality and versatility. It featured a reliable 598cc (or 599cc) air-cooled, 8-valve, inline-four engine with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC). This engine delivered approximately 61 horsepower (45 kW) at 8,500 rpm and 55 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, tuned for strong low- and midrange performance. Fueling was managed by four 28mm Mikuni constant-velocity carburetors. The Seca II primarily referred to the faired XJ600S version, while an unfaired XJ600N was available in other regions from 1995. While its core design remained consistent, the Seca II received several notable improvements throughout its production. Significant updates included new carburetors and an electric fuel pump in 1996, alongside a redesigned front fairing and headlight. The 1998 model year brought substantial upgrades, featuring 41mm front fork stanchions and the addition of twin front floating disc brakes, enhancing both handling and stopping power. FAQ:
