Throughout its evolution, the engine displacement has remained a potent 998cc. This high-performance motorcycle has undergone several significant generational updates, each refining its capabilities and introducing advanced technologies to maintain its competitive edge. From 2008-2010, new electronics like the Kawasaki Ignition Management System were introduced. A major overhaul occurred for the 2011-2015 models, adding traction control (S-KTRC) and an ABS option. The 2016-2020 generation further integrated advanced electronics like a Bosch IMU and quickshifter. The latest 2021-2026 models feature integrated winglets, an air-cooled oil cooler, and comprehensive electronic rider aids, including the 40th Anniversary Edition in 2024. FAQ:
