Vehicle Information
Yamaha Grizzly 450 ATV (2007-2016)
The Yamaha Grizzly 450, produced from 2007 to 2016, is a robust utility ATV known for its reliable 421cc liquid-cooled, SOHC 4-stroke single engine. This carbureted engine, fed by a Mikuni 33mm BSR, consistently delivered strong low-rpm torque throughout its production run. All models featured Yamaha's Ultramatic V-belt automatic transmission and the On-Command pushbutton 2WD/4WD/locked 4WD system. Trims included the base 4x4 Automatic, models with Independent Rear Suspension (IRS), and those with Electric Power Steering (EPS). Special editions like the Outdoorsman were also offered. A significant update occurred around 2011, introducing an all-new, lighter, and stronger one-piece steel frame. This revision also brought the availability of Electric Power Steering (EPS) and an innovative sealed wet brake system for the rear, improving durability and performance. Despite these chassis and feature enhancements, the core 421cc carbureted engine remained unchanged from 2007 to 2016. Q: How do I ensure this product fits my Yamaha Grizzly 450?
A: To guarantee a perfect fit, please use the year and edition selector at the top of this page.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 100 hours or 1 year (whichever comes first). For heavy use: every 50 hours, 800 km, or 1 season. | More frequent changes are recommended for heavy use in mud, dust, sand, or during heavy towing. |
| Air Filter | Inspect every 25-50 hours or after each ride in dusty/muddy conditions. Replace every 100 hours or 12 months. | Replace if worn, damaged, remains dirty after cleaning, or after extended use in dusty conditions. |
| CVT Drive Belt | Inspect every 100 hours. | Check for glazing, fraying, width loss, cracks, or uneven wear. Belt life is highly dependent on usage. |
| Spark Plug | Inspect every 100 hours. | |
| Coolant | Check before each ride. Replace every 200 hours or 2 years. | Old coolant can lose its protective properties, leading to corrosion. |
