Harley-Davidson Iron 883 Motorcycle - Street (2009-2022)
The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 (factory code XL883N), produced from 2009 to 2022, served as a popular entry point into the Harley-Davidson brand with its distinctive "Dark Custom" styling. It was consistently powered by an air-cooled, 883 cc Evolution V-twin engine with Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection (ESPFI), which remained fundamentally unchanged throughout its production run. While the Iron 883 itself was considered a specific trim within the broader Sportster family, it did receive notable mid-cycle updates. From 2016 onwards, it featured revised suspension, new wheels, and a new seat treatment. A minor adjustment related to the brake rod for mid-controls also occurred around 2014. Production of the Iron 883 and the air-cooled Evolution Sportster line was discontinued in 2022, as Harley-Davidson transitioned to the Revolution Max platform. FAQ:
Q: How do I know if this part fits my Iron 883?

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Engine Oil and Oil Filter | Every 8,000 km or annually | Some sources also mention 6,000 km. |
| Drive Belt | Inspection every 8,000 km | Replacement generally recommended between 80,000 and 160,000 km. |
| Spark Plugs | Replacement every two years or every 48,000 km | Inspection at the first 1,600 km service. |
| Air Filter | Inspection and service required at every 1,600 km, 8,000 km, and 16,000 km service | Reusable high-flow air filters require cleaning rather than replacement. |
| Coolant | Not applicable | The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is air-cooled and does not use engine coolant. Brake fluid (DOT 4) should be flushed and replaced every two years. |
