Description
The EBC Brakes CKF kit is a tough carbon fibre impregnated moto-x/ATV clutch which is longer lasting and grippier than standard cork based units (friction plates only).
Carbon fibre clutch plates are designed to handle the higher temperatures encountered in racing while being gentle enough for every day riding. Each kit is measured to the perfect stack height and should only be fitted as a whole kit. Soak clutch plates in the correct quantity of manufacturer's recommended drive case oil before installation.
Never use automatic transmission fluid. We strongly recommend that this clutch is fitted by a professionally trained mechanic. It is best to fit new clutch springs at the time of changing clutch plates due to heat fatigue of old springs. We sell a range of clutch spring sets. Before riding your motorcycle please ensure you are comfortable with the new lever force and can easily disengage the clutch with minimal hand pressure. Have an experienced rider test the machine.
FEATURES
- Include carbon fiber impregnated friction plates
- Tough clutch plates extend engine life
- Improve drive
- Increase the heat threshold of the clutch
- Improve rider feel

Vehicle Information
Yamaha WR250 Dirt Bike (1991-1997)
The Yamaha WR250, produced between 1991 and 1997, was a two-stroke, single-cylinder enduro motorcycle known for its off-road performance. During this period, the model was primarily identified by its year, often with a letter suffix (e.g., WR250ZB for 1991, WR250ZJ for 1997), rather than distinct trim levels. Its liquid-cooled two-stroke engine underwent notable evolutions. While the WR250 did not feature separate trim levels, it received significant annual updates. The engine displacement increased from 246 cc in 1991 to 249 cc (or 249.8 cc) from 1992 to 1997, with internal revisions such as a redesigned cylinder and a new carburetor. The transmission also evolved, moving from a 5-speed gearbox to a 6-speed in 1994, before returning to a 5-speed in 1997. Other improvements included a reinforced crankshaft, larger radiators, and adjusted flywheel weight for better power management. Q: How can I ensure parts fit my Yamaha WR250?
R: To guarantee compatibility, please use our year and edition selector located at the top of this page.
Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Transmission Oil | Every 5 to 15 hours | Intervals vary by year (e.g., 1991: 10-15 h; 1997: 5-10 h) and riding style (aggressive or recreational). |
| Oil Filter | Not applicable / Not specified | Two-stroke models do not have a traditional engine oil filter. No specific information is provided for a transmission oil filter. |
| Spark Plug | Annually or every 100 hours | Interval not explicitly specified in sources, but this is a general recommendation for optimal performance. |
| Air Filter | Every 5 to 10 hours | Clean and re-oil regularly. Inspect frequently, especially after riding in dusty conditions. |
| Coolant | Annually or every 3 to 5 years | Interval not explicitly specified in sources. Check level regularly. |
