Vehicle Information
Honda C70 Passport Motorcycle - Street (1970-1983)
The Honda C70, known as the Passport in North America during its later production years, was a highly popular step-through motorcycle produced from 1970 to 1983. Renowned for its reliability, fuel efficiency, and simple design, it consistently featured an air-cooled, 72cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder OHC engine paired with a 3-speed semi-automatic transmission. While the core engine remained consistent, the C70 underwent several notable updates. Early models (1970-1977) often used a 6-volt electrical system with points ignition and a down-draft carburetor. A significant evolution occurred around 1982, introducing a more reliable 12-volt electrical system with CDI electronic ignition and a side-draft carburetor. Styling also evolved, with later models featuring a more squared-off frame and leg shields, and the 1983 Passport adopting a refined cowling design. Seating configurations varied, from two-seater options on early C70M models to single seats with luggage racks on C70K1, and diverse arrangements on later Passport versions. Q: Is this product compatible with my Honda C70 Passport?

Maintenance
| Component | Interval | Details |
| Oil Filter (screen and centrifugal) | Cleaned every 2 000 km (screen) | The engine uses an oil filter screen and a centrifugal oil filter, not a replaceable spin-on filter. The screen should be cleaned every 2 000 km. The centrifugal filter requires occasional cleaning by removing the right-hand crankcase cover and clutch unit. |
| Drive Chain | Inspect and lubricate every 500 km | The Honda C70 Passport uses a drive chain, not a belt. |
| Spark Plug | First replacement: 4 000 km. Subsequent replacements: every 8 000 km, then every 12 000 km. | Recommended spark plugs include NGK C7HS or ND U22FS, with a gap of 0.6 - 0.7 mm. |
| Air Filter | Cleaned every 2 000 km | Clean by tapping to dislodge dust and using a blast of clean air from the inside. Shorten interval in dusty conditions. |
| Coolant | N/A | The Honda C70 Passport is air-cooled and does not use liquid coolant. |
