Kawasaki GPz 1100 Motorcycle - Street (1981-1997)
The Kawasaki GPz 1100 is a legendary motorcycle produced across two distinct periods: 1981-1985 and 1995-1997. Despite sharing the GPz 1100 name, these represent two entirely different machines. The first generation (1981-1985) featured an air-cooled, 1089 cc, DOHC, four-cylinder engine with electronic fuel injection. This era saw significant updates, notably in 1983 with the ZX1100A1, which introduced revised styling, suspension, a more powerful engine, and a new digital fuel injection system, alongside Uni-Trak rear suspension. After a hiatus, the GPz 1100 returned for its second generation (1995-1997) as a liquid-cooled, 1052 cc sport-touring model. This later version was based on a detuned ZZ-R1100 engine, offering a full fairing and an upright riding position, with an optional Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) available from 1996. FAQ:
Q: How do I ensure I select the correct parts for my GPz 1100?
A: Given the significant differences between the two generations, please use the year and edition selector on this page to find parts specifically compatible with your motorcycle.
