This liquid-cooled, 749 cc in-line four-cylinder engine delivered impressive performance, positioning the FZ750 as a benchmark in its class. During this period, the FZ750 underwent significant evolution. The "Series 1" (1985-1987) featured a half-fairing and a 16-inch front wheel. Starting in 1987, the "Series 2" introduced a full fairing, a 17-inch front wheel, upgraded front brakes with four-piston calipers and drilled discs, and a 4-into-1 exhaust system.
