Vehicle Information
BMW R1100RT Motorcycle - Street (1994-2001)
The BMW R1100RT, produced from 1994 to 2001, is an iconic touring motorcycle known for its long-distance comfort and reliability. It is powered by an air/oil-cooled, two-cylinder horizontally opposed "Boxer" engine with a displacement of 1085 cc. This engine consistently delivered 90 horsepower at 7,250 rpm and 95 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm throughout its production run. The standard model came equipped with ABS II, a three-way catalytic converter, a full-coverage fairing, and 33-liter hard panniers. While engine specifications remained uniform, technical improvements were implemented. Early models featured a throttle cable setup prone to synchronization issues, later replaced by a more reliable "Bowden box" system. The M94 gearbox, known for shifting problems, was updated to the M97. In 1997, the R1100RT-P (Police) variant was introduced with a high-output alternator. In 2000, the Special Equipment (SE) model bundled popular options like an electrically adjustable windscreen and a stereo system, without altering performance. FAQ:
