Vehicle Information
BMW R1150R Motorcycle - Street (2001-2006)
The BMW R1150R, produced from 2001 to 2005 with some availability extending into 2006, was a standard "naked" motorcycle that succeeded the R1100R. Designed for both commuting and sports touring, it was powered by an air/oil-cooled 1130 cc flat-twin boxer engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox and shaft drive. During its production run, the R1150R saw notable developments. Early models from 2001 to 2003 featured a single-spark ignition system, which transitioned to a dual-spark setup from October 2002 production onwards for improved combustion and reduced emissions. Two main trims were available: the standard R1150R and the R1150R Rockster, introduced in 2003, which offered a sportier aesthetic with styling cues from the R1100S. The braking system also evolved, with optional ABS available from 2001, and the introduction of an optional integral ABS system linking front and rear brakes, along with the modified EVO braking system. Production of the R1150R ceased in 2005, succeeded by the R1200R in 2006. FAQ:
