Vehicle Information
Ducati 1199 Superleggera Motorcycle - Street (2014)
The 2014 Ducati 1199 Superleggera was a highly exclusive, limited-edition motorcycle, with only 500 units produced. This high-performance model featured a Superquadro L-twin cylinder engine with a displacement of 1198cc, producing over 200 horsepower (some sources specify 203 hp) at 11,500 rpm. An optional "Race Kit" was available, which further increased horsepower by 5 hp and reduced the bike's weight by 2.5 kg. The 1199 Superleggera was a singular, high-performance model and not offered in multiple trims. It represented a significant evolution from the standard 1199 Panigale R, incorporating numerous engine enhancements such as World Superbike-style two-ring pistons, a modified combustion chamber to increase compression ratio, a super-lightened crankshaft with tungsten balance inserts, and titanium exhaust valves. There were no mid-cycle generation or engine changes for the Superleggera within the 2014 model year, as it was a specialized, one-off production run. The broader Panigale line did see a larger displacement engine introduced in 2015, but this was not a change to the 1199 Superleggera. FAQ:
