The Ducati Monster 797, produced from 2017 to 2020, was designed as an accessible entry-level motorcycle, marking a return to an air-cooled engine within the Monster family. It featured an 803cc air-cooled L-Twin engine, delivering 73 hp and 67 Nm of torque through a 6-speed transmission. This model was available in two primary trims: the standard Monster 797 and the Monster 797 Plus, which added a passenger seat cowl and a bikini nose fairing. During its production run from 2017 to 2020, the Monster 797 itself did not undergo any significant mid-cycle generation or engine changes. However, for the 2021 model year, Ducati completely revamped the Monster line, replacing the 797 with a new model featuring a liquid-cooled 937cc engine and a redesigned chassis.
